Shabbat Across Menorah
Some of the warmest moments of Jewish life happen around a table. Shabbat Across Menorah brings our community out of the sanctuary and into one another's homes, as members open their doors to host small Shabbat dinners across the South Bay. On these special evenings, we welcome Shabbat together even as we gather apart, one community spread across many tables.
How it works
On Shabbat Across Menorah evenings, our regular Friday night service at the synagogue pauses so the whole community can celebrate Shabbat in homes instead. Members host dinners in small, welcoming groups, and others sign up to join them. Whether you are hosting or attending, it is a relaxed and meaningful way to share a Shabbat meal, make new friends, and feel at home in our community.
Baking challah together
No Shabbat table is complete without challah. In the days before, our community comes together for challah baking, an intergenerational tradition where children and adults knead, braid, and bake side by side. The fresh challah is then delivered to our Shabbat Across Menorah hosts, so a piece of the whole community is present at every table.
