Camp Menorah

Summer at Temple Menorah means sunshine, friends, and adventure. Camp Menorah is our summer day camp for children from kindergarten through 12th grade and provides campers a summer full of games, songs, crafts, water play, field trips, beach days, and (most of all) amazing friends and community. This summer our theme is simple: joy. As we like to say, "Mitzvah gedolah lihyot b'simcha tamid," it is a mitzvah to be joyous all the time. Through music, dance, humor, creativity, nature, food, and so much more, campers discover that joy is something we can practice and share.

A Day at Camp

What we do

Every day at Camp Menorah is packed with fun! Water balloons, gaga, basketball, art projects, slime, lanyards and friendship bracelets, music, and otter pops galore – all infused with Jewish community and learning. Campers enjoy water play and beach days, field trips, park visits, plus sports and games, arts and crafts, music and dance, messy play, and Shabbat activities and celebration right on campus.

Camp divisions

Camp Menorah is organized into age groups so every camper gets an experience that fits them.

KEF

K-4th grade

Our youngest campers enjoy water days, on-campus special events, field trips, beach and park days, and plenty of messy play.

Mitzvah

5th-7th grade

Older campers step into leadership, helping plan and run camp programs, taking part in leadership training, and joining service projects on campus and at Wilderness Park.

CIT

8th-12th grade

Counselors in Training grow as leaders, learning the traits of effective leaders and serving as role models around camp. Community service credit is available.

Our staff and safety

Families can feel confident leaving their children in our care. All staff complete a training program including CPR and First Aid certification, and our counselors and CITs are chosen for their enthusiasm, experience, skills, Judaic knowledge, and caring attitude. Many of them were campers at Camp Menorah themselves. Camp follows all safety and health guidelines set by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, field trips travel on buses with seat belts, and our beach location is chosen for its proximity to a lifeguard tower and restrooms, with swimming in designated areas only.
