Ongoing Adult Education
Our adult learning programs are designed for every stage of the Jewish journey. Open to all backgrounds and experience levels, they offer a warm and meaningful way to explore Jewish life, tradition, and identity alongside others.
Adult Confirmation
Adult Confirmation is a meaningful opportunity to affirm your Jewish identity, deepen your connection to Torah, and celebrate your place within the Temple Menorah community. This year-long course, taught by the Rabbis, invites participants to explore Jewish learning, tradition, spirituality, and contemporary Jewish life in a warm, welcoming cohort. No previous Jewish knowledge or Hebrew skills are required, and the program is open to all.
Through thoughtful study, rich discussion, and shared experiences, participants continue to develop their adult Jewish identity while building lasting relationships with fellow learners. The journey culminates in a special Shabbat morning Adult Confirmation service, during which participants help lead the congregation in prayer and share personal reflections on their Jewish identity and their connection to Torah, the Jewish people, and the Temple Menorah community.
Our next Adult Confirmation cohort will begin in fall of 2026.
Introduction to Judaism
Introduction to Judaism is an engaging and welcoming course for adults interested in exploring Jewish life, whether for the first time or with fresh perspective. Open to all, this course is designed for those who are part of an interfaith couple, raising Jewish children, considering conversion, seeking a deeper spiritual connection, or simply looking for a meaningful adult Jewish learning experience. During the 18-week program facilitated by the Rabbis in a warm and inclusive environment, participants learn alongside a supportive cohort while exploring the richness and diversity of Jewish tradition, belief, and practice.
Throughout the course, participants examine Jewish values, holidays, life cycle celebrations, prayer, the Bible and other sacred texts, Jewish history, antisemitism and the Holocaust, Israel, the North American Jewish experience, and the diversity of the Jewish people today. Questions are encouraged, multiple perspectives are explored, and every participant is invited to engage thoughtfully with Jewish ideas and traditions. Wherever you are on your Jewish journey, Introduction to Judaism provides a safe, welcoming, and meaningful place to learn, grow, and discover what Judaism can offer your life.
Adult B’nai Mitzvah
It is never too late to celebrate this meaningful milestone. The Adult B’nai Mitzvah program is an 18-month cohort for adults who did not become bar or bat mitzvah in their youth, as well as for Jews-by-choice and those who celebrated a bar or bat mitzvah years ago but wish to deepen or renew their Jewish knowledge and skills. Along the way, participants build a strong foundation in Jewish belief, practice, history, and texts while learning to read Hebrew, lead Jewish prayer, chant from the Torah, and prepare and deliver a d’var Torah.
The course is both rigorous and rewarding, challenging participants to grow in knowledge, confidence, and Jewish identity while supporting one another throughout the journey. The program culminates in a shared Shabbat morning B’nai Mitzvah celebration.
