The Arachim Program

The Arachim Program was developed by a partnership of The Jewish Federation/South Bay Council and the South Bay synagogues to provide 8th and 9th graders an opportunity to develop lasting friendships while learning about the obligation of mitzvot as they actively participate in Tikkun Olam projects.

PROGRAM #4: Sleepover

May 3-4, 2008
Ahavat Zion - Love of Israel

In anticipation of Yom Ha’Atzmaut (Israel Independence Day), the teens will spend the night at Temple Menorah, with the focus on Israel. Two soldiers from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will spend the weekend with the youth, and share their senses of Israel, Israeli society today, and the outlook for the future. The students will also participate in a high adventure Ropes Course designed to build trust and self-confidence.
