Temple Menorah Rabbi's Weekly Message
Coming Together for You at Temple Menorah

Despite the light and joy that filled our synagogue and many of our homes during the festival of Chanukah, there is no denying that these most recent weeks have brought new, complex challenges to the Jewish community. Both the loss of life at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh and cherished space at our local Jewish summer camps are at the forefront of our collective mind, and the need for a community to call home is as strong as it has ever been.

Thankfully, our precious Temple Menorah community continues to exist as a beacon of light during these dark days. Though we have had our share of changes and challenges during 2018, we are excited that things with our synagogue are indeed coming together – in ways such as:

  • improved Religious School curriculum
  • vibrant Adult B’Nai Mitzvah celebration
  • renewed tactics in communication
  • multi-generational Israel adventure
  • reinvigorated Tichon & Confirmation program
  • rapidly expanding Tuvia program
  • creative musical Shabbat experiences

We thank you for your ongoing support of our synagogue community. Involvement is what allows our community to flourish. As you consider year-end charitable contributions, it is our hope that you will consider our synagogue among the beneficiaries. Gifts today can help to keep the light of the menorah shining brightly throughout 2019.

Here are a few suggestions for end of year gifts:

  • Prepay your 2019-2020 membership dues payment in full or a desired portion
  • Make a donation towards our General Fund for the area of greatest need or the Fund of your choice
  • Sponsor a Kiddush or Nosh dedicated to a special person or event.
  • Call the office to set up a monthly, quarterly or annual Temple Sustainer pledge.

Exciting times lie ahead for our Temple Menorah community. Of course, it is only with your engagement and participation that we truly come together, strengthening the synagogue community that we call home. Thank you for your partnership in causing the light to shine brightly into the new year and beyond.

L’Shalom – in peace and partnership,
